Be The Person You Want Your Kid To Be

Kids may not be the best at listening to what you say, but they’re great at copying what you do. This inspirational story shows the importance of being the kind of person you want your child to grow up to be.

Parents are the ultimate role models for children. Every word, every action and every argument has an effect. No other person or outside force has a great influence on a child than the parent. Children won’t always listen to what you say, but they will copy what you do. They won’t always follow your advice but they will follow your example. So it’s best to ask “is what we do or say the way we want our children to be?” If no, then let’s change that. We should be the kind of role model we wish we had if we were a kid.

This broke my heart. I lived with my parents fighting all the time as a child. It left it’s mark on me. I promised myself I would never fight with my spouse around our kids. Luckily I have an awesome husband and we have never had a fight. We disagree on things but are able to keep a level head during the conversarion. Because I know certain attributes, behaviors and even sicknesses of my parents can be hereditary and learned behaviors, I’ve also taken measures to prevent help myself not put my kids through the sales thing in their childhood. I never want to hear my kids tell me I learned that bad behavior from watching you. That would be a total parenting fail for me.
Thanks for your videos they are always awesome!
